The Friends can help the library become a leading information and referral source for its clients. The following is a list of organizations who share many of our goals in supporting CTBL and its clients:
American Council of the Blind of Colorado (ACBC) - A non profit dedicated to promoting the independence, equality, and opportunities for blind and visually impaired individuals in the state of Colorado.
Beyond Sight - Largest retail store of blind and low-vision products in the country.
Colorado Center for the Blind (CCB) -Training center of the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains in Littleton, Colorado, with a mission of providing comprehensive training, support and opportunities to blind persons and others in developing positive attitudes about blindness. The Colorado Center for the Blind empowers blind persons to live independent lives as fully integrated, productive and contributing members of society.
Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB)'s mission is to drive the research that will provide preventions, treatments and cures for people affected by retinitis pigmentosa (RP), macular degeneration, Usher syndrome, and the entire spectrum of retinal degenerative diseases. VisionWalk is the national signature event and these walks raised over $500,000 to support the mission of research to find the preventions, treatments and cures for retinal degenerative diseases. Health S E T Senior Vision Connection - Providing access to affordable health care and vision services to improve seniors’ quality of life.
The Legal Center - An independent public interest non-profit specializing in civil rights and discrimination issues.
Low Vision Gateway - World's resources or vision loss, vision-impairment, blindness, low vision aids and low vision rehabilitation services.
National Federation of the Blind - Largest organization of the blind in the world with a mission to enhance opportunity for the blind.
Radio Reading Service of the Rockies - A 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer-based, broadcast and audio information service for Colorado's blind, visually impaired and print handicapped residents. RRSR's services provide access to otherwise inaccessible ink print materials.
Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic (RFB&D) - National volunteer nonprofit organization is the nation's educational library of primarily textbooks serving people who cannot effectively read standard print because of visual impairment, dyslexia or other physical disability.
Seniors Resource Guide - A comprehensive guide to housing, health services, professional services, care management and community resources.
9HealthFair - Colorado's largest non-profit health fair program to promote health awareness and to encourage individuals to assume responsibility for their own health.
